

550 Rescue Fire Boat
The 550 Rescue or Fire Boat is a unique design based on a proven craft, capable of being powered by inboard or outboard engines of up to 150hp to give a highly stable and manoeuvrable Fire, Search and Rescue boat – with a stupendous optional fire fighting capability. The 550 will always have a full freeboard, thanks to the hull’s double moulding construction. Additional buoyancy and stability is provided by the unique foam collar, which also provides excellent fendering when coming alongside.
In the all important risk assessment hierarchy these unique controls reduce the risks to personnel or casualties of collar deflation commonly found in other manufacturer’s RIB designs.
The Carson 550 is large enough to accommodate over 12 persons - vital capacity in a water or marine rescue situation. Yet can be comprehensively equipped with an efficient high pressure and density water fog fire fighting extinguishing system. An environmental defence capability for pollution control/decontamination can also be specified to enhance versatility. Comprehensive SAR equipment - can be specified - these tools can be deployed with ease due to the configuration of this vessel.
This vessel’s primary role is targeted at vessels under 100 tons, with an impressive SAR capability in either coastal, inshore or inland floodwaters. Our collaborator, Carson RIBs are proven Worldwide, have exceptional sea keeping, strength and ability to stay on station in the arduous conditions they are tasked to operate within.
